Post Fallidays Tiny Tree Festival returns on December 2 By Jillian Chandler
Post Fallidays Tiny Tree Festival, brought to you by Heritage Health and the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, returns Saturday, December 2, to Prairie Falls Golf Club Event Center (3200 North Spokane Street) in Post Falls for some mid-morning food, fun and festivities.
The inspiration for the event came from the Chamber of Post Falls’ previous CEO, Jame’ Davis, according to current CEO and president Christina Petit. “She had seen a similar event happening in Lewiston, Idaho, and loved the idea of a tiny tree festival. I love the idea too because these beautifully decorated trees are something that everyone can afford and enjoy. It makes the event available to everyone, and it is a perfect and festive way to kick off the holiday season.”
There will be approximately 15 to 20 4-foot trees up for bid during the silent auction that are fully decorated in a variety of creative themes, full of gifts on and under the tree. The values start at $250 and go up from there. “One year, Horizon Credit Union donated a tree with every kitchen appliance could ever need including a Kitchen Aid mixer,” Christina recalls. “We added centerpieces as well that not only provide décor for the event, and then your home, but they have fun gifts too.”
Guests will enjoy a lovely brunch (petit fours, tea sandwiches, fruit and cheese display, smoked salmon, delicious breakfast breads and more), Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar, and a festive photo booth. This year’s holiday entertainment will feature dancers from Expressions Dance Studio.
In addition to the tiny trees being raffled off, Ace Hardware is providing a beautifully decorated full-size tree “ready to brighten your home or office,” Christina says. The tree will be on display in the lobby at Prairie Golf Course starting the second week of November. Tickets are $5 each or six for $20. You can purchase tickets using the QR code on-site, or opt to buy online (in advance or day of). Please note, the winner will need to make arrangements to pick up the tree after the event.
Just 225 tickets will be sold, priced $35 per person or $260 for a table of eight, and include brunch and one complimentary drink. Tickets can be purchased on the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce website, PostFallsChamber.org or by calling 208.773.5016.
Those interested in donating a decorated tree (deadline to sign up is November 21), or interested in a sponsorship opportunity, can reach out to Christina at christina@postfallschamber.com.
Proceeds from this event go to support the programs provided by the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce for the business community such as the Lunch and Learn, Coffee Connections and other special events like the Breakfast with our Legislators.
