Located on the beautiful Highlands Golf Course atop the Highlands Bench, surrounded by serene gardens and lawn, Highland’s Day Spa is Post Falls’ first and finest full-service day spa offering guests 14,000 square feet of pleasure and relaxation for body, mind and spirit.
Opened in 2002 by Jeane Plastino-Wood, current owner Emily Hildebrand purchased the premier spa in 2017, which features a full range of health and beauty treatments—from massages to facials to hair and nail services and access to a steam sauna—that help create a refreshing retreat from guests’ daily routines. They even offer spa parties to celebrate that special event!
“I love the clients that come in and haven’t experienced a massage or spa treatment before. Getting to be the spa that brings them into this amazing lifestyle of spa treatments is a huge privilege,” says Emily. “Not only is it just a fun and new experience, it’s an important step to self-care!”
From a young age, Emily had known she wanted to one day own her own business. While attending college to earn a degree in business, an opportunity presented itself. “The spa business honestly happened by accident,” she says. “I was working the front desk at Highlands Day Spa … and the opportunity for purchase sort of fell into my lap, and I knew instantly I wanted to take it!”
At Highlands Day Spa, you will find an experienced, friendly and dedicated staff that strives to make each client’s experience memorable. “My employees continually give amazing services to our clients and always have the dedication to make each client’s experience as perfect as it can possibly be! Everyone from front-desk receptionists to the service technicians to the behind-the-scenes maintenance and laundry all takes part in the success of Highlands,” smiles Emily.
In addition, value is another important aspect of the business. At Highlands Day Spa, clients are greeted with “down to earth” staff with friendly personalities, and their services have been reasonably priced to allow everyone to experience the gift of relaxation and spa treatment. Their steam sauna sets them apart as well, and it’s included with all facial and massage prices.
“We live in a society that celebrates keeping our nose to the grindstone at all times, and it’s so necessary to take time for ourselves to get a massage or facial and just take care of ourselves period!” Emily says. “I love being the spa that often gets to help with this necessary human care first.”
Emily is truly grateful for the success she’s seen since taking ownership of Highlands Day Spa just two years ago, and she credits Jeane, her family and friends, and her incredible employees, all whom have helped her get to where she is today as a proud business owner.
Emily moved to the Coeur d’Alene area when she was less than 1 year old and feels blessed to live in such a beautiful community. “I haven’t considered another area to ever be home. Coeur d’Alene is such an amazing ‘home base’ to come home to after traveling. We have everything here from city life to wilderness, and everywhere else I’ve been has just been ‘nice to visit.’”
If you’ve never experienced Highlands Day Spa in Post Falls, or you’ve realized it’s been a while, what are you waiting for? There’s no time like the present to take time for yourself to escape, relax and indulge. A fabulous spa experience awaits.
